The Korean Frequency
The final release of 2023 from WotD on Chris Coco’s ever popular DSPPR takes us right back to November 2022 when the band and Chris decided it would be better to do an album than a few EPs, so for the first time since leaving Coventry and returning home to Ireland back in 2011 Jonny decide that after nine years of working online on the WotD project that it would benefit the band if he hooked up with fellow Warrior Sean for a weekend session in the same studio. So he was sent to Coventry in a round about way, and from that we have The Korean Frequency with its rising pad swells and a tight drum loop which was added by new boy Kevin ahead of the horns, live bass, the magic of an untamed Juno arpeggiator and a healthy dose of cosmic sprinkles. These were added when Jonny went to Florida in March to hook up for a week with the American chapter of WotD, Mike & Nick.
The track title comes from an old club night (Frequency) which Jonny ran across the Midlands from 98/06 which Sean was a resident at, and during that studio session they ordered in from the local Korean restaurant. Simple really.

Hashish Dreams Ft Deep Division
Jonny’s good friend Stevie Overend and WotD had been toying with the idea of a collaboration for some time and it presented itself when they started laying ideas down for the album. Stevie sent some ideas over from a live jam he’d been working on and Jonny stripped it out and rearranged it before again taking it to Florida where it, like everything else, got the funked up cosmic Jazz treatment from Mike & Nick.
